This morning, Chicago Tribune surfaced a photo of Vermont senator, Bernie Sanders, being arrested during his rebellious years in college.
The photo shows a young Sanders being dragged away by two Chicago policemen in front of a police barricade. More protesters are seen behind Sanders, and there’s a man smoking a cigarette standing to the left of Sanders and the police.
Information was unveiled that the photo was taken in August of 1963 near South 73rd Street and Lowe Avenue in Englewood, which would make Sanders about 21 years of age and a student at University of Chicago at the time of the arrest. Court records later confirm that Sanders was arrested August 12, 1963 and charged with resisting arrest; he was found guilty and fined $25.
